Australian governments of all persuasions stress how essential border security is in many fields, such as immigration, narcotics and quarantine, but the Rudd government is proposing to abandon any border protection of personal information.

We saw recently how the ANZ bank has their internet banking system taken over by hackers and huge money lost. This is an example of how IT Security and infrastructure was not given the importance it should have.
The Rudd government must act now and start getting the wheels in motion so that Australia can be at the forefront of this issue.
