A. B. Pty Limited v Australian Crime Commission [2009] FCA 119

A. B. Pty Limited v Australian Crime Commission [2009] FCA 119 (19 February 2009).

The recent judicial review decision of Flick J involved a challenge to the validity of statutory notices issued by the Australian Crime Commission (ACC).

The decision reinforces the wide-ranging powers afforded to federal investigatory bodies. Further, it reiterates the significant distinction between the process of producing documents to a federal investigatory body and discovery within the context of civil litigation.
