Media Report - Mapping the new era of discovery

Article by former Chief Justice Michael Black in The Australian:

IN its excellent report entitled Managing Discovery of Documents in Federal Courts, the Australian Law Reform Commission rightly focuses on the need for the robust judicial management of the discovery process.

It also focuses on the challenging reality of modern commercial litigation that virtually every document is likely to have an electronic record and that vast amounts of data, for which there may be no hard copy at all, are stored electronically.
